Apollo 11
On July 16, 1969 Apollo 11 was launched into space carrying Commander Neil Armstrong, Lunar Module Pilot Edwin E. Aldwin Jr., Command Module Pilot Michael Collins. The main mission of the Apollo 11 was to "Perform a crewed lunar landing and return to Earth". This mission was a national goal set by John F Kennedy on May 25th, 1961. On July 20th 1969 the "Eagle" had landed on the Moon. On July 21st, 1969 Neil Armstrong and Edwin Aldwin took the first steps on the moon. Because Armstrong's landing was televised an estimated 530 million people watched the first steps on the moon and heard Armstrong say his famous quote "..one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind". The crew also brought back the first samples from another planet. They brought back basalts, dark colored indigenous rocks, that were discovered to be about 3.7 million years old. This mission was spread around the world and experienced and celebrated in many different ways. It marked a new era of technology and showed how the inventions of man were being taken to the next level and how if we work together and work hard enough we can achieve anything no matter how impossible or how hard it may seem.

- A patch from the Apollo 1 mission that came to an end after a fire destroyed the command module after a training exercise in 1967 which killed 3 U.S astronauts.
- Medals honoring Soviet cosmonauts Vladimir Komarov and Yuri Gagarin who had died in flight in 1967 and 1968.
- Messages of goodwill from 73 world leaders.
- A gold pin in the shape of an olive branch symbolizing world peace.
